Major Professional Contributions:

Development of Fast Reactor Fuel Reprocessing Technology (FRFR). Leading expert in India with original contributions in development of hot cell equipments, remote handling technology, design of radioactive hot cells for reprocessing of Plutonium rich fuels. Besides, made outstanding contributions to design and development of various special purpose machines required for radioactive facilities. Successfully designed, constructed and commissioned pilot plant called CORAL (Compact facility for advanced fuels in Lead shielded cell) for fast reactor fuel reprocessing, which processed several campaigns of high Pu rich mixed carbide fuel of high burn up 155 GWd/t & short cooled fuel (18 days) without any radiological event for first time in the world. Presently responsible for design, construction and commissioning of the Demonstration Fast Reactor Fuel Reprocessing unit (DFRP) for regular reprocessing of Fast Breeder Test Reactor (FBTR) fuel & demonstration of Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (PFBR) fuel reprocessing. Design & construction of commercial Fuel Cycle Facility for reprocessing of Fast Breeder Reactor Fuels. He has over 150 classified reports and 60 technical presentations and publications to his credit.
