Major Professional Contributions:

Actively coordinated in strategic projects of IGCAR, such as development of 9Cr-ODS alloy clad tubes for Fast Reactor and Reduced Activation Ferritic-Martensitic (RAFM) steel for DEMO fusion reactor. Contributions in the selection of 'high strength and irradiation resistant' alloy composition and processing route are prominent, and also demonstrated the long-term creep rupture strength properties of the ODS clad tubes requisite for minimizing the fuel cycle costs. Notable contributions are made in the field of cyclic deformation and associated damage mechanisms in structural materials of interest to fast reactors and fusion reactors..

  • Group Achievement Award (in 2014) from DAE, towards contribution to the "Development of Reduced Activation Ferritic-Martensitic steel for Test Blanket Module of DEMO Fusion Reactor".
  • Received Sudharshan Bhat Memorial Prize for the best Ph.D thesis in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering for the year 2014, from IIT Madras
